The BIG jump

Finally Kiewiet got enough guts to jump from our bathroom window to the passageway to get outside without us keeping the front door open for her.

It took more than a year since we got her to teach her getting out on her own. Off course there were plenty of attempts but she just couldn't do it... until now.

This is were Kiewiet spend most of her (sleeping) time. The loves lying on this bean bag and staring outside at all the birds feeding at our bird feeder.

Kiewiet vs Water

Kiewiet loves water, although she never ever would take a bath, she will never hesitate to play with drops of water from my tap. She probably think "where do all these stuff go to?"

Me and my baby

Everytime I arrive home from work, Kiewiet is so happy... in my whole life I have never seen a kitten greeting her owner like Kiewiet does after a long day of work. She's always just there when I come home and puts me in a good mood, doesnt matter how bad my day was... what can I say... she's wonderful and I love her so much :)

@ Sleep

Kiewiet loves this table… she usually sleeps here if we’re not home. The vase in the background on the table behind the picture broke the other day when she was playing on the table trying to catch the flowers in the vase. Remember that broken glass and chewed bones on the floor and kitchen table is normal things you have to live with when a cats around.

When I’m in my pj’s, she rushes to me and sits with me until she falls asleep. As a kitten, she used to suck on the material of by pj’s… disgusting for some people, but I think it’s so sweet. A friend once told me that kitten does this when they were too young when taken from their mothers… see I told you it’s sweet.

She looks just like a porcelain doll…ok ‘cat’ when sleeping. Maybe I must make her second name ‘Princess’.

From the name..... to the game..... initially this blog will start with a few postings about how Kiewiet grew up. After that daily (ok I'll try) postings will be made to keep you up to date with everyday happenings in the life of Kiewiet.

Kiewiet loves to go outside and play. I stay in an estate with a mini gholf course. The sand and long bushes alongside the Hennops river (adjasent to the estate) heaven for Kiewiet............

Kiewiet - an intro

This blog is all about my cat and the crazy things she's always up to. As you probably already know, her name is Kiewiet and she's a european breed (don't ask me the kind of european breed.. probably some kind of cross).

The name: Kiewiet - A kiewiet (afrikaans) is a type of bird in South Africa. In english its called a 'Blacksmith Plover' with black and white feathers. Kiewiet is also black and white.. therefor the name 'Kiewiet'.
